“Islands In The Stream” was a BeeGees-authored mega hit named after an Ernest Hemingway novel and performed by country superstars Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

The duo topped the charts with it in the US and took it to the top 10 in several more developed economies across planet Earth including a #7 peak in the UK.

The BeeGees had originally written the track for Marvin Gaye as an R&B number, and later recorded it themselves in that style.

In 1998, ex-Fugee member Pras Michel interpolated this song into “Ghetto Superstar (That Is What You Are)” and took it to #15 in the US.
